Learning Unit 1: Identifying and Investigating Employee Relationship Issues
- Identify potential employee relationship issues using investigative and analytical techniques.
- Liaise with relevant parties to assess the validity and credibility of claims.
- Understand the role of tripartite partners in resolving employee grievances and disputes.
Hands-on Activity: Practise handling workplace complaints fairly by applying investigative steps to gather evidence, conduct interviews and verify claims across real workplace scenarios.
Learning Unit 2: Developing and Implementing Effective Solutions
- Apply structured approaches to oversee and resolve employee relationship issues.
- Develop solutions aligned with organisational policies and workplace practices.
- Manage conflicts, grievances, and disputes in a fair and consistent manner.
Hands-on Activity: Build a grievance handling system by drafting key policy sections on procedures, documentation, communication or staff training.
Learning Unit 3: Negotiating and Resolving Employee Conflicts
- Facilitate negotiation and conflict resolution discussions to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes.
- Implement agreed resolutions and ensure effective follow-through.
- Review documentation and outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of conflict resolution strategies.
Hands-on Activity: Practise applying suitable negotiation approaches to resolve workplace scenarios such as resource requests, salary discussions, training needs or team conflicts.
Learning Unit 4: Strengthening Employee Relationships
- Develop and recommend programmes and initiatives to improve employee relationships.
- Apply industry best practices to build a more positive and collaborative workplace environment.
Competency Assessment
& Certification
Nationally-Recognised Certification
Candidates will be awarded a Statement of Attainment under Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) and a Certificate of Completion by Skills Development Academy upon completion of the course with at least 75% attendance and demonstration of competency in the WSQ-mandated written and practical assessments.

Entry Requirements:
- Aged 18 and above
- Have basic computer literacy Level 2
- Have minimum GCE “N”, “O” or “A” Level / NITEC or a diploma qualification and minimum 2 years of working experience;
- Have an English language proficiency equivalent of higher of any of the following – GCSE N/O Levels pass in English / WPLN Level 5 / IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL (internet based total) 46-59.
