Learning Unit 1: Introduction to Critical Thinking and Reasoning
- Apply critical thinking processes to identify inconsistencies and errors in reasoning.
- Evaluate interpretations using thinking standards and structured reasoning approaches.
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of different viewpoints.
Hands-on Activity: Practise using critical thinking to make better workplace decisions by assessing risks, weighing pros and cons, and checking reasoning quality against standards such as clarity, accuracy, relevance, logic and fairness.
Learning Unit 2: Overcoming Egocentric Thinking
- Understand the impact of egocentric and sociocentric thinking on decision-making.
- Analyse situations from multiple stakeholder perspectives.
- Apply strategies to reduce bias and improve objectivity.
Hands-on Activity: Practise recognising personal bias and group thinking by examining workplace scenarios from different viewpoints, including employees, investors, customers and the organisation.
Learning Unit 3: Research Methodologies and Information Gathering
- Select appropriate methods to gather relevant and reliable information.
- Apply questioning techniques to gain clarity and deeper understanding.
- Analyse information to support decision-making.
Hands-on Activity: Identify suitable information-gathering methods such as surveys, interviews, observations, experiments and secondary research, for different purposes.
Learning Unit 4: Enhancing Communication and Understanding
- Evaluate information for accuracy, relevance, and credibility
- Identify logical connections between ideas and arguments
- Assess stakeholder inputs to determine relevance and importance
Hands-on Activity: Evaluate ideas from different stakeholders by reviewing competing suggestions and deciding which idea is more practical and aligned with business goals.
Competency Assessment
& Certification
Nationally-Recognised Certification
Candidates will be awarded a Statement of Attainment under Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) and a Certificate of Completion by Skills Development Academy upon completion of the course with at least 75% attendance and demonstration of competency in the WSQ-mandated written and practical assessments.

Entry Requirements:
- Aged 18 and above
- Have basic computer literacy Level 2
- Have minimum GCE “N”, “O” or “A” Level / NITEC or a diploma qualification and minimum 2 years of working experience;
- Have a basic understanding of the camera functions of the mobile phone and
- Have an English language proficiency equivalent of higher of any of the following – GCSE N/O Levels pass in English / WPLN Level 5 / IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL (internet based total) 46-59.

Vikram is an engaging trainer who is knowledgeable and cracks jokes to lighten the mood. Uses stories as an example to better explain concepts to students in the class. Cares for students and checks if any student has any questions. Very good facilitator would go for his classes again.
